Whether you are a man or a woman, hair loss may be one of the most difficult things you have ever experienced. In fact, while society often expects men to experience hair loss, it can still be tough to go through it. Feelings of self-confidence are often challenged when a man experiences hair loss, and the idea of rapid aging creeps into the mind, making it difficult to maintain any decent level of self esteem.

Statistics show that Americans experience more hair loss than other countries, and it stands to reason that one of the main causes of hair loss is the typical American diet. The high consumption of fats, sugars, and nutritionally lacking foods that are also high in calories, puts people in a position of having too many calories, and too little nutrients.

Changing your diet may be one of the easiest things to do to stop hair loss. At the same time, though, it can be tough to get used to dietary changes. However, if you want to end hair loss, begin to grow new hair, and have healthier hair overall, then you will need to take some steps to a healthier diet.

The diet that is best for your hair health is one that is lower in saturated and animal fats, lower in starches and simple carbohydrates, and avoids eating food that has a lot of calories with little nutritional value.

Adding more fruit and vegetables, changing from simple carbohydrates to complex carbohydrates (whole grains), and making sure your protein sources are lean and free of chemicals will go a long way in increasing your hair health.

Another thing that may be necessary to do if you are already experiencing hair loss is to take a good multi vitamin that will fill in the gaps where your diet has been missing it. Making sure you are getting all the nutritional requirements to be healthy all over will make a huge difference in whether you lose hair or not, and how much you will lose if you are going to lose any. When you choose a multi vitamin, make sure it includes all the B vitamins, the antioxidants (vitamins A, C, and E), Zinc, and Magnesium.

You can take control of your hair loss and your hair health, with making simple changes to your diet. Keeping your hair, and in turn your self confidence and youthful look, will be worth any changes you make.
