An Ounce of Prevention Is Worth a Pound of Cure

There is an old saying in medical circles that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure – essentially, if you can stop something from happening in the first place, you will be saving yourself from what will be a much harder time in actually getting rid of that something once it has happened.  Indeed, when you read about the different natural hair loss treatment products available, all of the best hair loss treatment plans are of a preventative nature.  Whether you are talking about female hair loss treatment or male hair loss treatment, a good natural hair loss remedy is to simply prevent hair loss from occurring in the first place by nipping the causes in the bud.

The only case in which this axiom of hair loss prevention does not apply is when the hair loss you experience is genetic in nature.  In other words, if you had a bald father or grandfather and you inherited the gene from them, the hair loss prevention tactics that you learn will likely not do anything to offset the actual hair loss simply due to the way that things are set up in genetics.

However, there are other ways in which you can be successful in your hair loss prevention goals.  For example, there are many people that believe that if they lose their hair in response to an illness or a particularly serious side effecting treatment, they were simply the recipients of bad luck.  Many illnesses, though, can be prevented through healthy lifestyle choices.  If you eat right, exercise and mostly try to avoid substances that are harmful to your body like alcohol and drugs, you will save yourself the pain of serious illness later on in life and at the same time you may also be able to escape the hair loss symptoms that come with them.

Also, there are some illnesses that are handled just as easily by your immune system as they would be by antibiotics.  If you only take medications when it is absolutely necessary, you will find that there is a lower chance of one of the hair loss side effects catching you unaware.

Hormonal imbalances can also lead to hair loss and these types of imbalances can be genetic or they can be environmental.  If they are genetic or they are related to a specific event such as having a child, then there is really nothing you can do about it, but if they are related to the ingestion of certain foods, supplements and substances you can definitely change your diet or your supplement intake to make sure that whatever is causing the hormonal imbalance in the first place is dealt with in a calm and collected manner.

These are all very simple ideas for hair loss prevention, but they are really as good as any natural hair loss treatment if they stop you from losing your hair.  And in most cases, the steps you take above will help you in other areas of your life as well.
