One of the most interesting things about my life now is just how fast everything seems to be going. My life has always been on the fast side of things, especially with my job and the clients that my firm represents. At the same time however, in the past I felt like I was always struggling to keep up. There was no way I could actually put what I was feeling into words, but I knew that it was a terrible feeling and not one that I would wish on anyone else.
Looking back on that period of time, I can say for certain that I now know I was in the midst of a very bad depression. The idea of not being able to get where you want in either your professional or personal life is a very crushing idea and no matter how much you might want to get things done, being in a state of depression makes everything ten times harder to do. I couldn’t even take care of my hair loss problem then. I didn’t realize any of this at the time and just thought that it was my lot in life but now that I know there are better ways to live, I can say with confidence that if you do something about what is bothering you and holding you back in life, you can definitely reach the stars.
I’ve just been given a promotion at work and made a junior partner. This is quite a bit different from being just one of the crowd because it puts me in the second tier of the company. According to my new boss I’m one of the youngest people in the firm’s history to be made a junior partner and if I play my cards right I might actually be the youngest person in history to be made a senior partner. There are so many different things in my life that are going right at the moment that I almost feel it’s like a glass sculpture. Beautiful and wonderful on the outside and the inside, but I’m afraid to touch it lest I end up breaking it.
One of the main reasons that I was able to get to that position so early on is the help that I got from Justine’s father. I mentioned in my last update that he’d sent me three new referrals and that one of them had already agreed to representation. Well, I ended up getting two more referrals from him and eventually ended up signing four of the five leads, with the fifth one still very interested in doing some business together. That type of streak is the stuff of legends in the period of a week at the firm and that combined with my recent appearance change is definitely something that got the attention of the senior partners.
I’m so excited about where my life is going at the moment and I can’t wait to share the news with Justine. Our sortie to the cabin went famously and we’re planning to go again at some point in the future. My current situation has me swamped with work however, so I’m not sure when I’ll get another free weekend. Before Provillus, I would never have imagined any of this was possible. Now, though, I know it is.
