Well, I finally gave in and tried Rogaine for my male pattern baldness. I spent nearly two years waiting to try it. Rogaine isn’t an all natural product, and that scared me a bit. Moreover, it’s expensive in comparison to other formulas, and that was a bit frightening at first too. The more hair I lost, though, the more I decided that I had to try something.
While Rogaine did help me grow back some of my hair, it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I know different people respond to it differently, so I’m not saying that you will get the same lackluster results I did, but I’m writing so that others will be aware that results vary from person to person. Just because you invest the money in the product doesn’t mean that you are guaranteed to grow back the same hair you had when you were 18.
I wouldn’t say the Rogaine experience was a complete failure; I am happier with the hair I have now compared to the lack of hair I had six months ago. I was just hoping for more. Maybe I have seen that hair growth episode of the Simpsons too many times when Homer grows back hair down to his shoulders overnight.
The results didn’t impress me, but there was one other thing about Rogaine that I didn’t like. It was pretty messy in terms of the application process. When I think back on it, I should have just tried Propecia since their product is one pill you take once a day. Rogaine was a hassle to use and since it didn’t quite live up to expectations, I don’t think I would go through all of this again.
I’ve talked to men who responded much better than I did to Rogaine, and they say that they couldn’t live without it now, but that’s not what my experience was like. Try Rogaine if you want, just know that you might not end up with a head full of long, lustrous hair. There are other hair growth options out there, and I think it’s important to take every option into consideration before making a decision.
